Honeywell Valve Recall Update

Honeywell recently announced the recall of some of its valves. Honeywell is conducting the actual recall, and Empire is cooperating with them.

Via the US mail, Empire Comfort Systems has already notified all customers who purchased products containing these valves. The notice included serial numbers, model numbers, order numbers, and order dates. Empire has passed this same information to Honeywell to allow them to contact the customers and make arrangements to replace the valves.

If your company did not receive a notice and list of serial numbers from Empire Comfort Systems, you did not purchase products from Empire Comfort Systems that are affected by the Honeywell recall.

If Honeywell has contacted you, you may have purchased products made by other manufacturers that are affected by the recall. If you have questions, please contact Inger Shaw at Honeywell - 763-954-4915.

The all-new Ponderosa log set from Empire Comfort Systems fills any fireplace with a tall, full stack reminiscent of a large western campfire. Each of the hand-painted concrete logs in this 13-piece set features incredible detail and definition in its bark, split wood, and charred areas. The Ponderosa Log Set fits Empire’s existing Slope Glaze Burner – both vented and vent-free. A consumer who already owns an Empire log set can install the new Ponderosa logs without changing the burner. The patented Slope Glaze Burner produces a lifelike flickering flame that perfectly complements the Ponderosa Log Set’s rich details.

‘Select’ Firebox Filled With Innovations

Unique features and advanced manufacturing technology position the Breckenridge Select Vent-Free Gas Fireboxes above conventional boxes. The all-new Breckenridge Select Firebox, from Empire Comfort Systems, features a low sill height, a flush front on its upper chamber, and concealed louvers – yet still accommodates a blower. Empire Comfort Systems offers the Select Fireboxes in 32-, 36-, and 42-inch, with exterior dimensions comparable to its Premium models. Thanks to their low sill height, however, the Select models create a much taller stage that’s ideal for today’s bigger log sets. The Select Firebox accepts any certified vent-free log set and burner. By recessing the Select Firebox to floor level and completely surrounding the flush front with marble or stone the installer can create the look of a site-built fireplace at a fraction of the cost. The standard full-fit refractory liner, in herringbone pattern, helps complete the built-in illusion.

Belleville, IL – Empire Comfort Systems introduces an all-new Tahoe Premium Series fireplaces. Built with the same innovative manufacturing technology found in the new Deluxe Tahoe fireplaces, the Premium fireplace features a deeper firebox and the largest window ever offered on a Tahoe direct-vent fireplace. The view through this expansive pane reveals a new hand-painted ceramic fiber log fitted to Empire’s popular Slope Glaze Burner. Tahoe Premium fireplaces come in two models – 28,000 and 30,000 Btu. They are heater rated and available in LP or Natural gas. An optional damper-controlled Fresh Air Plus system draws outside air into the home to blend with the heated room air. Empire offers the new Tahoe Series with an installed blower, with installed aged brick liner, or with both. An optional Herringbone liner features lighter color bricks with a smoked finish. The Premium Tahoe Series takes advantage of the full complement of decorative trim options – louvers, frames, and doors – offered in four finishes – hammered pewter, stainless steel, polished brass, and flat black.

Belleville, IL – The new Profile Series Mantels from Empire Comfort Systems give homebuilders and remodelers a high-quality, easy-to-install option to surround any built-in fireplace. Made from real hardwood and cabinet-grade plywood, the Profile Series includes two sizes of flush mantels and three sizes of mantelshelves. Each is available primed for painting or unfinished for staining. The versatile Profile Series mantels adapt to most applications and install in minutes. Reversible pilasters can be mounted to show a fluted or plain surface. Add plinths for a taller mantel or cut the pilasters for a shorter look. The innovative design allows up to 5/8-inch thick tile, stone, or other material with the edge neatly concealed behind an adjustable cove molding. For the ultimate in simplicity, a Profile mantelshelf attaches with just a ledger board, yet provide a dramatic, modern alternative to a traditional mantel.

Belleville, IL – The all-new Tahoe Deluxe fireplace series from Empire Comfort Systems Inc. takes aim at the growing market for built-in direct-vent fireplaces.

The innovative fireplace springs from state-of-the-art design and manufacturing technology. Hem-bent, crimp sealed seams require a fraction of the screws used on conventional boxes, but produces a system that is 15-percent lighter and much more rigid – making it easier to install.

The Tahoe fireplace features a large glass with an unobstructed view of the all-new log set and burner. Available in LP or Natural gas in models from 18,000 to 28,000 Btu, these heater-rated fireplaces feature beautiful, hand-painted log sets. Empire offers the new Tahoe Series with an installed blower, with installed aged brick liner, or with both. An optional Herringbone liner features lighter color bricks with a smoked finish. Designed in conjunction with the Tahoe Fireplaces, Empire offers a new line of decorative louvers, frames, and doors -- available in four finishes – hammered pewter, stainless steel, polished brass, and flat black. The louvers may be ordered in leaf pattern, arched, mission, and traditional slats. The matching doors are available in arched and rectangular, with leaf pattern, mission pattern, or plain. “These decorative trim pieces can highlight or completely make over your fireplace,” said Ken Belding, vice president of sales for Empire. “Between the new fireplaces and all these trim options, we’re bringing more than 200 new SKUs to market in one fell swoop, but our dealers and their customers demand selection.” “This was a huge undertaking for us, but it represents just the beginning,” Belding continued. “We look to expand the trim options, both in finishes and designs, as well as applying these to other hearth products.”
